Nearly 400 guests took a break and headed to the area around VCU’s Larrick Center to enjoy the VA Bio+Tech Park Summer Festival presented by Activation Capital. The overall event theme was that of a classic carnival complete with food, live music, and games.
Five different food trucks provided a variety of lunch options, along with popcorn and cotton candy made on-site. Charlottesville based band “Boxed Lunch” kept the crowd entertained with high energy and great harmonies as they played a set list of rock
favorites.
The classic carnival games and activities were a huge hit. Guests played Whack-a-Mole, had their fortunes told by the psychic Zoltar, took a chance on the Love Meter,and got take-home memories from the photo booth and caricature artist.
“We love organizing and presenting these events that bring together friends and neighbors from across the VA Bio+Tech Park to celebrate the life sciences in Richmond and beyond,” said Beth O’Donnell, Activation Capital’s Vice President of Finance and
Operations. “We hope to do more of these community building events in the future, and we expect them to keep growing.”
