RICHMOND, Va., January 17, 2025 – Governor Glenn Youngkin has appointed Paul Nolde to the board of the Virginia Biotechnology Research Partnership Authority. As a political subdivision of the Commonwealth, the Authority Board works to grow the regional innovation economy.
“The appointment of Paul Nolde will further strengthen our collective efforts to bolster the number of successful tech ventures scaling in the region and accelerate innovation in life sciences and technology,” said Robert Ward, interim executive director of the Virginia Biotechnology Research Partnership Authority. “We look forward to Paul’s continued contributions to our thriving ecosystem as we work together to empower entrepreneurs, innovators, and problem solvers.”
As managing director of 757 Collab, Nolde has established a reputation for expertly guiding the organization’s strategic vision and overseeing daily operations, accelerating and funding venture-appropriate startups from idea to seed stage. At 757 Collab, Nolde manages programs including 757 Startup Studios, the “front door” incubator to Hampton Roads’ entrepreneurial ecosystem; 757 Accelerate, a nationally recognized venture accelerator; 757 Angels, one of the nation’s premier angel investment groups; and 757 Innovation Partnerships, which provides innovation programming for organizations and companies.
Before joining 757 Collab, Nolde served as executive managing director of Lighthouse Labs, a nationally recognized venture accelerator based in Richmond, Virginia. Prior to that, he was fund manager and managing director of Riverflow Growth Fund, a seed-stage, healthcare-focused venture capital fund. Nolde also served as a director at NRV, an early-stage venture capital firm, where he managed the angel investment portfolio of a family office. Earlier in his career, he held various sales and strategy positions at national and community banks.
An active participant and advocate for Virginia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, Nolde serves on the boards of several local and regional organizations, including CAV Angels, Innovate Hampton Roads, the Norfolk Innovation Corridor, Hampton Roads’ Regional Organization Presidents’ Council, and The Launch Place Seed Fund. Additionally, he sits on advisory and governing boards at the University of Virginia, where he also serves as an adjunct professor of impact investing at the Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy.
Nolde graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Foreign Affairs and completed post-graduate business studies through the McIntire School of Commerce Business Institute.
