Patented, Sustained-Release Therapeutics Delivery System Directly Through Skin

Atticus Pharma has developed a unique, patented, sustained-release system for delivering therapeutics directly through the skin. Atticus’s first product uses this topical delivery technology to administer anandamide to cutaneous lesions in lupus patients over 12-24 hours, providing the first new therapeutic for lupus lesions in 50 years. Atticus’s second product, for androgenic alopecia, will be evaluated in human subjects during 2024.

Atticus spun out of Zylö Therapeutics and was incorporated in February 2024 after Zylö secured $4M in grants and spent years developing Atticus’s technology. Since incorporation, Atticus has recruited its management team, is raising a $2 million Bridge Note as part of its $8 million series A, and it has welcomed the world’s leading authority on cutaneous lupus to its clinical advisory board.

What We’re Looking For

Atticus is seeking advisors that have experience working with pharma startups, specifically those who can advise on the fundraising process.

Financing

  • A $2 million Bridge Round (convertible notes) opened in September and will remain open through November 30, 2024 with a possible extension. More than $1 million has been raised to date with half coming from the Atticus founders. Proceeds will be used to initiate IND enabling studies for the lupus program and a clinical study in human subjects for the alopecia program.
  • An $8 million Series A Preferred Stock raise will follow the Bridge. Proceeds will be used to complete IND-enabling studies and to complete a Phase 1/2a clinical trial.
  • Atticus will apply for several Phase 1/Phase 2 NIH grants that could bring in between $2.0 and $3.6 million. The NIH grants would be supplemental to the $8 million Convertible Bridge and Series A.
